CEO Pete Lau has recently confirmed the speculation regarding which processor we will find inside the OnePlus 5.
We’re proud to announce the OnePlus 5 will feature the Snapdragon™ 835 processor, which sets the foundation for smooth, powerful, and efficient performance.
So now we have a fuller picture of what are on the cards for the OnePlus 5. A phone due to feature a 5.5-inch FHD display, powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC and rocking 6GB of RAM. OnePlus also confirmed it will be working with DxO Labs to make sure that it offers one of the best cameras on the market. Rumours are becoming more convincing that the OnePlus 5 will lose the 3.5mm headphone jack. A scanner has been embedded in the home button on the last few OnePlus iterations, however, this times around OnePlus could implement an ultrasonic scanner and a similar choice between capacitive and on-screen keys similar to the OnePlus 3 or 3T.
OnePlus recently put out a cryptic tweet asking what colour we would choose. The word “Should” was spelt with a 5, a rather blunt hint they were referring to the upcoming OnePlus 5. Three of the colours are standard, black and gold is expected and Red being a little with the times, if Apple does it, it’s a thing. Colour number two, however, is an interesting fade between teal and pink. Either that or it’s pearlescent, or possibly a smoked glass effect like the Honor 8 taken to the max.
