The Honor 6X was first showcased in China in October and the smartphone followed in Huawei’s new form of sporting dual rear cameras. The smartphone also continues the trend of giving a premium feel to mid-budget smartphones. The Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display and it is powered by company’s own Kirin 655 processor.
The Honor 6X was announced in three different memory variants – 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM variant with 32/64GB storage. The Dual SIM smartphone offers expandable storage up to 256GB via hybrid SIM slot.
Honor 6X’s USP is definitely the dual rear camera setup. The primary camera here is a combination of 12 + 2MP image sensor. The 12MP image sensor is used for shooting pictures while the additional 2MP sensor is used to capture additional data like depth. The smartphone supports option to refocus images once shot thanks to the additional depth sensing. The primary camera supports phase detection autofocus and LED flash. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies.
Honor 6X houses a 3340mAh battery and supports company’s own fast charging technology. Honor are in the process of updating the Honor 8 to Android 7.0, this is due to roll out in February.
