FreedomPop launched a free smartphone plan recently and now they are rolling out their first branded smartphone. The FreedomPop V7 comes with a free FreedomPop SIM complete with free voice, text and data included, as well as free WhatsApp usage. Users who want more than the basic free plan, of 200mins, 200 SMS and 200mb Data, can either upgrade to a paid FreedomPop plan, use a different SIM, or both, as the phone is dual SIM. FreedomPop works off the back of Three’s network.
The phone is called the FreedomPop V7, and it’s an entry-level handset that boasts a launch price of £59. Thereafter the phone is said to rise to £199.99 (apparently!) As such, its spec list is toned down to match. It includes a 5-inch 720p HD display, a 13-megapixel camera on the back, a VGA front-facing shooter, and 16GB of built-in storage. There’s a microSD card slot for expandable storage, 1GB of RAM, and a 2100mAh battery. It supports two SIM cards and it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor.
The FreedomPop V7 is only available in the United Kingdom in limited quantities. You can pick one up from FreedomPop’s shop.
